How it began

“I could pick the love of my life out of the crowd without ever having met him. That’s what happened here.”

— Abby

“Abby stole my heart with her sense of adventure and her ability to dream big. I can’t wait for everything that’s to come for us.”

— Alec

Abby & Alec

Abby and Alec met at college orientation in 2013, a week after their respective high school graduations, and later, in their freshman engineering dorm, introduced the second time by Peter and Zoe, both in the bridal party. All that time later Alec remembered Abby; Abby had already met too many people. Alec didn’t say anything for months.

A year of friendship, and that friendship clearly wasn’t just a friendship, to them or those around them. Abby runs her first marathon.

A year of dating and they were backpacking the Alps.

Three years of dating and they were graduating with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Engineering, buying a one way ticket to Australia. Moving in together into a 5th floor walk-up. Solidifying a close-knit group of friends in Boston.

Five years of dating and they were both working full-time in that one bedroom apartment.

Seven years of dating and they were buying a 4th floor walk-up, moving up (down?) in the world.

Eight years of dating and they were getting engaged on the same beach they eat pizza and drink beer on Fridays after work. Alec starts sailing competitively again, completely and totally himself.

A year engaged and Abby is starting law school. Alec is running his first marathon. They are running the Alps.

Two years engaged and they celebrate their life together with their loved ones in Ipswich.

Abby is exuberant, audacious, and resolute.

Alec is dependable, intrepid, and gentle.

They’re better together.
